Loneliness is defined as the state of being alone and feeling sad about it You could have people around you throughout the day or even be in a lifelong marriage, and still experience a deep, pervasive loneliness. Unsurprisingly, isolation can have a serious detrimental effect on one’s mental and physical health. Some of the signs of loneliness are:
- Lack of connection
- Lack of communication
People can be lonely while in solitude, or in the middle of a crowd. What makes a person lonely is the fact that they need more social interaction or a certain type of social interaction that is not currently available.
